Subject Leader – English
September 2017 (January 2018 start may be considered)
Required for September 2017, a well-qualified and enthusiastic Subject Leader of English at this successful 11-18 girls’ grammar school in Reading. English is taught throughout the school and students are highly motivated, creative and engaged. Kendrick School is a centre of academic excellence with a track record of high performance and achievement.
This position may suit a teacher who has at least two or three years’ experience, has aspirations to lead a department and can be mentored towards this role; or a more experienced teacher ready to take on a key departmental leadership position. We are looking for someone who is inspirational, creative and forward thinking to create a vision for English, both within and beyond the classroom. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with energy and vision to join the school.
English is a popular and highly valued subject at Kendrick School. In addition to English Language, all students take English Literature at GCSE. A significant number of students take English Literature A Level and some continue to study the subject at prestigious universities.
