ENTRY TO YEAR 12 IN SEPTEMBER 2013
The date for receiving applications for entry into Year 12 in September 2013 has now closed. Any late applications will be dealt with in accordance with our Admission Policy for Entry to Year 12 in September 2013, Any application received after the closing date of 25th January 2013 will be added to the Waiting List below the cut-off point and in order according to the ranking as determined by predicted GCSE scores.
Consultations took place on Wednesday 6th March 2013. Any offer made is conditional and subject to candidates meeting all the entry requirements which are stated in our Admission Policy for Year 12 Entry in September 2013.
Candidates on our waiting list are asked to follow the process outlined in the letter sent to them in early March. .
Kendrick Sixth Form
Kendrick is a Specialist Science, Maths & Languages Selective Girls’ School with Academy status and offers AS/A level courses in: Art & Design, Biology, Chemistry, Classical Civilisation, Drama & Theatre Arts, Economics, English Literature, French, Geography, German, History, Latin, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Physics, Religious Studies, Sociology & Textiles. In addition to AS/A Levels, an Enrichment Programme is offered comprising of GCSE Classical Greek, GCSE Spanish, AS Critical Thinking, Community Sports Leader Award (CSL2) and Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
Kendrick School welcomes new students into its Sixth Form and prospective entrants into Year 12 for September 2012 are invited to attend our Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 15th November 2012, between 6.15pm and 8.15pm.
Guided tours and subject information will be available from 6.15pm to 7.45pm. There will be a talk by the Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form at 7.45pm and the evening will be finished by 8.15pm. A prospectus, entry requirements and application form will be available on the night.
Please enter the school through the East Street entrance. No appointment is necessary.
Please note that there is no parking available on the school site. The nearest public car parks are in Queen’s Road and the Oracle Shopping Centre.
Application Process
The Sixth Form Prospectus and application form will be issued on Thursday 15th November 2012 at the Sixth Form Open Evening. Applications require both the Application Form and the School Reference Form to be completed. The closing date for the return of application forms is Friday 25th January 2013. The School Reference Form will request your predicted GCSE grades and will be posted by Kendrick School to your Headteacher as soon as we receive your application form. It must be returned to Kendrick School by the 8th February 2013. We will inform you if your school reference form has not been returned to us within 10 days, and we will then ask you to encourage your Head of Year to return it to Kendrick as soon as possible. Unfortunately applications can not be considered until both forms have been received by the Sixth Form office at Kendrick School.
You will be required to attend a Consultation Meeting which will take place in the week beginning 4th March 2013. The meeting will be to discuss your subject choices and other aspects of your life at Kendrick. You will also be asked to complete a short written task.
