This year’s concert was a celebration of music in the school, featuring our new Year 7 cohort, as well as celebrating all of our singers and instrumentalists throughout the school.
The Music Department has had a very busy term, which began with a special string masterclass and concert with double bassist Chi-chi Nwanoku OBE, a former Kendrick student and founder of Chineke!, the first European black and ethnic minority orchestra. House Music was also a great success, and provided students with opportunities to arrange and conduct music, as well as perform. Congratulations were awarded to Sidmouth House for their superb musical contributions that evening. We ended the year with the Carol Services in the final week of term.
We celebrated Kendrick School’s 140th birthday this term and to reflect this, we included two instrumental pieces in our repertoire which were composed in the same year of our foundation, 1877.
We hope those that attended enjoyed the concert and appreciated the huge ability and talent of our students at Kendrick, as well as the very hard work that has been put into preparing this event.
