Earlier this year the House Committee introduced House Poetry with the inaugural theme of “Community”.  At Kendrick, our community is an integral part of school life, particularly for our houses, and the House Committee wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate it and all it contributes to our school.  Especially during these trying times, we gratefully acknowledge the Kendrick community for supporting our students in our everyday lives.

In the spirit of spreading kindness, the Kendrick Library advent calendar was opened on Wednesday 01 December and will continue each day on the lead up to Christmas. Every morning during registration we are treated to a kindness quote to think about for the day, beginning with:

‘No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.’ – Aesop

On Sunday the 14th of November 2021, a service was held in the Reading School Chapel to remember those from the Armed Forces who lost their lives in conflicts.  As part of the
Combined Cadet Force (CCF), Ishika, Simran and Sixuan attended the service. The Reverend focused on how the service was held not to glorify war, but to commemorate those who were involved, suffered and lost their lives. He reminded us how we as a community could better the world around us.

The school celebrated Biology week during the first week in October with the Biology department organising a range of hands-on Biology fun, from designing Biology T-shirts, brain dissections, moth identification and Biology inspired baking!

Diwali celebrations have been taking place this week and to that end Dr Joshi and Mrs Bharate prepared a four-minute video presentation for the students to explain the purpose, meaning and celebrations involved in Diwali.
