On Monday the 26th of June, Year 7 went on an exciting and fun-filled residential trip to the Isle of Wight. We got there by coach and took a 10 minute ride by hovercraft which was a new experience for most of us. We went there for 4 days and 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the trip (well all except the bedroom challenge – where we had to make our beds – but after tackling with the duvet we all managed!).
During our stay we were offered the opportunities to try out lots of different outdoor activities such as tree climbing, rock pooling, trekking through the forest, water sports and many more. An unforgettable activity was the blindfold trail where we had to go through an extremely muddy obstacle course blindfolded! This activity required teamwork and trust.
The staff at East Dene were all really nice and funny and they really helped to make our residential even more enjoyable. The site was really beautiful with a wide expanse of field, a huge forest, a grand mansion, a swimming pool and a lovely sea view!
Although we couldn’t wait to get back home to our family, we all felt sad about leaving.
