On 7th July all of Year 7 went to Queen Anne’s School to take part in a non competitive mini triathalon.
The event was supported by Katie’s Legacy. Katie Henderson was an accomplished young triathlete who tragically lost her life in an accident in 2015. Her family and friends wanted to do something that would give children the opportunity to experience the sport that Katie loved and have raised funds to hold this free event for local children.
This was an amazing opportunity for all of the students in Year 7 to experience all three aspects of a Triathlon, which is a sport that is becoming more and more popular with famous names like the Brownlee brothers dominating on a global stage,
This event was totally inclusive and designed so that everyone took part whatever their ability. Students took on the challenge of a ~50m swim, ~800m bike and a ~500m run. This event was non-competitive, with the focus on each child completing their own personal challenge and having fun!
