Partial Closure of School to Years 7,8 & 9

I have made the decision today, due to staff absence increasing on a daily basis, to close the school to students in Years 7, 8 and 9 from tomorrow, Thursday 19th March 2020, for the rest of this term.

Students are asked to study from home and work will be provided by their teachers electronically, however, learning will not be expected to be done exclusively on the computer. Priority for school electronic devices must be for Years 11 and 13, however, if your child has no access electronically during the school day, please let us know as a matter of urgency by emailing admin@kendrick.reading.sch.uk. Students will be asked to take their text books home today and information will be provided to them to support their well-being from Mme Hulley and Ms Swaine as well as providing them with a link to school throughout this period.

This partial closure is for the rest of this term, however I will communicate with you by ParentMail when students should return to school.

This decision has not been taken lightly but is essential to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.

Thank you for your support during this very difficult period.

Ms Christine Kattirtzi
Headteacher
