A student anthology competition was launched, based on the theme, ‘Words and Pictures for your World’ to encourage young people to voice their opinions on important, life-changing issues.

To mark the European Day of Languages, students and staff have been invited to participate in our European Day of Languages Department Bingo! The bingo includes challenges to be completed in order to win house points for a year group e.g. “Bake or cook a typical German or French dish or “Find some good German or French memes”.

Kendrick School Leaders have the privilege of being able to award students a white house token.  Students can receive a token which goes towards their house points if they meet with the carefully considered criteria as set out below. School leaders are eagerly looking forward to awarding these.

We celebrated the School Birthday on Monday 27^th September.  Each form made a cake that was judged by Ms Kattirtzi and Mrs Cook.   The cakes were displayed for everyone to view during 1^st break and then shared with the tutor group at lunch time.  There were Year Group winners, Key Stage winners and an overall winner.

Years 8 & 9:  The ‘Arts’ – Music, Drama, Art

Years 10 & 11:  Representing a subject studied

Years 12 & 13:   Any aspect reflecting Kendrick life

Please enter an introduction fOn Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th June 2021, the Year 12 A-Level Geography classes visited Lewes town, and Newhaven and Seaford beaches in East Sussex. This was in preparation for our NEA, an individual investigation each of us will undertake next year as part of our A-Level course to answer a geographical enquiry question on either of these two locations. The purpose of these days was to practise field work techniques, such as beach profiling and flood surveys, which we will use when collecting the data for our investigations next year. 

On Wednesday 14th July, the Kendrick Poet’s Society launched our first Poetry Anthology. The stunning book is the culmination of the Society’s hard work over the past year, featuring a variety of poems written, and edited, by Kendrick students, with the help of Miss Akcay. 

The theme of the anthology was ‘New World,’ which inspired the members to write beautiful poetry about a vast array of different topics and ideas. The anthology spans major world issues, personal struggles and hopes, and everything in between. From the hardships that immigrants face to a fairy tale realm, the poets have truly succeeded in writing a book with something for every reader.
