During this week’s wellbeing session, Years 12 and 13 were given an engaging and informative presentation by Helen, from the charity CoppaFeel!, filled with tips on looking out for our health and some serious facts and statistics about cancer.
On Wednesday 12th February, piano students from Kendrick and other schools nearby received a fantastic masterclass with Dr Nigel Wilkinson.
Once again the Kenservatory was transformed into Hogwarts but this time sporting the theme of the Triwizard Tournament.
The party began with everyone standing in a circle around the Goblet of Fire being careful not to cross the age-line. Students randomly picked a school badge and were sorted into Hogwarts, Beaux-Batons and Durmstrang Schools and were walked-through the three challenges to be undertaken in our version of the Triwizard Tournament.
On Tuesday this week, the Fairtrade event was a Student Bake Off, where students from Year 7 right up to Year 12 made cakes inspired by Fairtrade and using as many Fairtrade ingredients as possible.
Congratulations to the Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Badminton team of Saatvika, Saakshi, Anuva, Aneka, Manya, Nandini, Aniya and Ishita that are now through to the Regional round.
On Wednesday 29th January, six Year 9 students went to the JW Marriot Grosvener Hotel in London for a Women in IT event sponsored by Amazon Web Services (AWS). We had all taken part in an app designing competition by AWS last year.
On Thursday January 23rd, Y11 students visited The Hexagon in Reading for the Poetry Live! event, to support their learning and revision for English Literature GCSE and to explore and enjoy a range of poetry and poets. Abi in 11Q has provided the following account.
This 2019, Year 8 and 9 Charity Week was a huge success! Year 8s and 9s worked together to raise as much money in four days as possible. We managed to raise over £1000 for our chosen charity, which will really benefit our local community.
THE KENDRICK PLEDGE

This first assembly of 2020 coincided with an occasion that we always mark at this time of the year and that is Holocaust Memorial Day which is 27th January 2020.
Year 8 were given the task of creating Kendrick kindness tokens and if someone was kind they would receive a token from one of their peers.
Over the New Year, 36 of us, consisting of Year 10s and Year 12s, were lucky enough to visit the Aosta Valley in Italy for an incredible ski trip, with 10 of us snowboarding for the first time.
The First Lego League (FLL) robotics competition was a fantastic experience for all those who took part. Congratulations to the team (Nikitha, Jessica, Tisha , Emily, Pihu, Ishika, Bidisha, Shriya, Jasmine, Aditi, Eva, Shruthi, Samragee, Aniya and Nina) who won the award for best Robot Design. The judges commended the design and documentation, saying that it, ‘really stood out’ and was done at a ‘professional level’.
