We have been busy raising money for great causes during our Year 8 and 9 Charity Week. The appointed Charity Representatives from each Year 8 and 9 Form, with the help of Miss Swaine, decided on supporting two charities: SportsAble and the Reading Refugee Support Group.
The 10th November 2018 edition of New Scientist had a special report on Women in Physics.
In October 2018, Wendy Mentiply, a mother of a Year 12 student at Kendrick School, completed a tough trek in the Himalayas.
On July 17th we set off for Nepal, after a hard year of fundraising and completing GCSEs. Our trip was a combination of experiencing the culture in Kathmandu, working on a community project in the outskirts of Pokhara and a 11 day trek up into the Annapurna mountain range. Over the 3 weeks we overcame many (MANY) challenges as a team learning how to live without many of the things we take for granted in the UK.
Just before the end of the summer term I was lucky enough to have received a Travel Grant of £250 from the Kendrick Trustees for my expedition to Norway with Oxfordshire Scouts.
Monday the 4th of June 2018 saw Year 9 leave for Devon for a week long trip to PGL. The weather was cloudy and dull, but that didn’t mirror our emotions at all. We were all so excited to get away and relax for a week. As soon as we got there, we were greeted by cheerful, smiley staff thus instantly uplifting our moods and helping us to settle in after a long coach ride.
We, the Chair of Governors and Headteacher of Kendrick School, are writing to you at the start of a four week statutory consultation period from 7th June 2018 to 5th July 2018, regarding the proposed expansion of Kendrick School.
