The MFL trip to Germany was an incredible opportunity to engage with local Germans, immerse ourselves in their culture, and experience the language firsthand. I’m sure I will speak for everyone when I say it was an unforgettable journey—one that will stay with us forever. We are genuinely grateful to the teachers who accompanied us for making this such an amazing experience, and for giving us memories to cherish. A special thank you also goes to our superb coach driver, Hayden, who skilfully navigated a double-decker bus through Germany’s narrow streets.

    • Ayami Wins French Flash Fiction Competition

      Published 16/07/25

Earlier this year, I submitted an entry for the annual French Flash Fiction competition run by the University of Oxford. We had to write a piece of fiction in French in no more than 100 words. I loved the challenge of thinking and writing in French!

I wanted to do something different, so I decided to do a riddle. I chose 'a smile' as the answer to it because it is universal and understood by everyone regardless of what language they speak.

      Published 09/07/25

All students in Year 10 have wowed and delighted us with their persuasive speeches on a wide range of topics for their GCSE Spoken Language Assessment over the last couple of weeks. This year, we decided to celebrate these speeches by choosing one speaker from each English class to go head-to-head in our first ever Orators' Cup final. Speaking in front of their whole year group, Aditi, Isabella, Mayuri, Raenu and Shivani held their audiences captivated by topics including society's dependency on numbers, whether The Hunger Games reflects modern society, the sanitisation of classical literature, and racism towards Indian people and their culture.

      Published 02/07/25

Day 1: In the early hours of Sunday morning on 8th June, we embarked on the long-awaited trip to France.  The journey was long, yet everyone was buzzing with excitement, and after a day of travel, we arrived at the meeting point in Tours. At this point, most of us had begun to feel some butterflies in our stomachs about meeting our families. However, after the initial introduction, we gradually got less timid and, during dinner at home, we started to amicably chat about all sorts of things. We retired to our rooms for the night shortly after that, happy and content, thinking about the wonderful week to come.
