    • Harpist in the National Youth Orchestra

      During the first week of October, I was informed that I had achieved a place as a harpist in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain!  Across the country there are only four places available for the harp, so I’m delighted to have got a place. The audition process was long and tough. It involved preparing two contrasting solo pieces and performing orchestral excerpts set by the tutors on the audition panel. However, it was a fantastic process to go through as it helps to build resilience and strength.

    • School Birthday Reunion

      We are pleased to invite former students and staff to Kendrick School’s Reunion to celebrate our birthday on Friday 6th December 2024 from 3:30pm.

      There will be tours of the school with our students, a welcome from Ms Kattirtzi, our Headteacher and members of our Kendrick Student Leaders, followed by refreshments and an opportunity to catch up with your former friends and teachers. We expect the event to be finished by 5.45pm.

    • Widening Horizons - Gold Award From Sutton Trust

      We are delighted that Kendrick School has been awarded the Sutton Trust Fair School Admissions Award at Gold level. The Sutton Trust is an educational charity in the United Kingdom which aims to improve social mobility and address educational disadvantages. The top Gold level is awarded to schools who have made significant changes to their admissions policies to ensure that there is fair access to all pupils, regardless of socio-economic background.

    • Kendrick School's 147th Birthday

      This year we celebrated an incredible 147 years of Kendrick, 147 years of girls' education!  Kendrick School, came into existence in 1877. It is named after its founder, John Kendrick who was a 17th century merchant and clothier left a bequest, a sum of money – some £12,000 to the towns of Reading and Newbury to provide employment and education for girls and boys.  In 1877, our school first opened in Watlington House, in Watlington Street.
