Arkwright Engineering Scholarships

The Arkwright Engineering Scholarships programme is the most prestigious scholarship scheme of its type in the UK with over 5,000 Scholarships awarded to date.  The aim is to identify, inspire and nurture school-age students to be the country’s future leaders in engineering, computing and technical design.

Every year a number of Year 11 Kendrick students apply for a Scholarship.  They have to go through a rigorous selection process, that includes an application, a two-hour aptitude exam, and if successful, then have an interview hosted at a university.  Successful applicants are matched to a sponsoring organisation.  Support is offered in various different ways, for example, valuable hands-on experience, support for a curriculum project and a personal mentor who can help with studies and career planning.  The Scholarships are awarded at prestigious Awards ceremonies in London.

The attached YouTube video features Serena, Deputy Head Girl and Arkwright Engineering Scholar’s journey through the process.  Well done, Serena!!  The video gives students a real insight into the application process and hopes to inspire them to apply for an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship!
