Kendrick School's 141st Birthday

On Monday 24th September 2018, Kendrick School was 141 years old! We started the celebrations witih a whole school assembly and as always the students rose to the challenge of making cakes for the Cake Competition.

Every form made a cake on a given theme and the ideas chosen were fantastic. Year 7, who come to this event for the first time, excelled themselves with a wonderful display of cupcakes, whilst students in Year 9 focused on subject themes with an outstanding cake from 9A which was in the design of an electric keyboard complete with its plug! The Upper School showed off their technical skills with some super cakes, one featuring students made by 11S, another displaying the banner and colours of the suffragettes by 11P.  The Sixth Form surpassed themselves with a contribution made by every Tutor Group and it was no surprise that the winning cake came from 13JF made by one of our most experienced cake bakers! Claire and her form chose the theme of Nelson Mandela and a sculpture cake of the great man was their contribution. On it was the memorable and vital quotation: ‘education is the most important weapon which you can use to change the world’ - it is not surprising that it was the winning cake!
