  • Kendrick Student Leaders

The 18 Kendrick Student Leaders (KSL) make up four separate committees, elected by students and staff, to represent their school. The four committees are: Curriculum and Current Affairs Committee, Student Wellbeing Committee, Community Committee and House System Committee.

These students undertake specific roles working with younger students in the school organising and supporting inter-year and interhouse events in school. The KSL has an important role in representing the school, both in school and at out of school events. They are excellent Ambassadors for the school.

    Curriculum and Current Affairs Committee

We are honoured to be on the Curriculum and Current Affairs Committee for 2025-2026. Our goal is to continue to encourage a positive learning environment, where Kendrick students can grow into well-rounded, informed individuals through and beyond academia. With exposure to relevant news stories, encouraging thoughtful analysis, and opportunities to develop critical thinking skills, we aim to help students feel confident to engage with the world around them- and be prepared for the one ahead.

This year, we have exciting plans to introduce a Current Affairs podcast, offering a simple and digestible format for students to stay informed on significant global events. This will coincide with a newsletter we plan on creating, alongside other committees, to regularly update students on current affairs and upcoming KSLT initiatives. Additionally, we look forward to continuing the Curriculum and Current Affairs Club, providing a space for lively discussions and debates on thought-provoking topics.

    Student Wellbeing Committee

As the 2025-2026 Student Wellbeing Committee, we are dedicated to supporting students in maintaining a healthy balance between school and personal wellbeing, as well as creating a safe, supportive, and positive environment where young people feel heard, valued, and empowered. This year, we aim to continue building a culture where mental health is openly discussed and wellbeing is prioritised.  We look forward to working alongside the Wellbeing Ambassadors to launch new initiatives, building on past successes and bringing in fresh ideas. We hope to make wellbeing a visible and valued part of everyday school life.

    Community Committee

We are excited to be the new Community committee for 2025-2026 and will aim to nurture and grow the Kendrick community spirit. We will be organising a plethora of events throughout the year, with Kendrick classics such as the Lip Sync Battle and new events such as Community Day to celebrate the incredible diversity of our school. Our goal is to create a vibrant school environment where students have an appreciation for each other’s unique experiences and cultures. We will also strive to strengthen the relationship between our school and the local community, both through outreach work and fundraising for charities working in Reading.

    Cedars House Captains

We are so excited to be the Cedars House Captains for 2025-2026. We will continue to foster the strong Cedars House spirit and strengthen our friendships as a community by putting on a wide variety of events that encourage and develop diverse talents and interests. We have many events planned, old and new, including favourites such as House Music and Drama, where we can work together to build up points and hopefully win the house cup!
We are honoured to have this opportunity and are looking forward to getting to know you and working together to create wonderful new memories.

    Palmer House Captains

Hello everyone! We're Livi, Kitty and Tvishi, and we're immensely excited to announce that we are the new Palmer House Captains for 2025-2026!

As the reigning champions of the House Cup and Sports Day, we're hoping to continue our winning streak (and maybe even bag a House Drama victory as well!) We hope to run a huge number and variety of events this year alongside our current favourites, including the House University Challenge, Sustainable Fashion and other eco-friendly initiatives and more sporting events, so there will almost definitely be something that floats your boat.

We hope to see you all at some point in the next year to foster some House spirit with your fellow Palmer Llamas and help us to make it a hat-trick!

    Sidmouth House Captains

Hello everyone! We're Alisha, Connie and Atika, and we are proud to be this year's Sidmouth House Captains!

As a house known for its strong sense of community, teamwork and boundless positivity, we are excited to unite everyone through a mix of fun and inclusive events. This year, we are looking forward to building on a legacy of school spirit by encouraging all of you to get involved—whether through the return of popular sporting events, exciting new additions like House Football and potentially House Rounders, or meaningful, eco-friendly initiatives that promote sustainability. Our goal is to make sure every member of Sidmouth feels valued, involved, and inspired to take part.

Let’s make this a year to remember—together as one Sidmouth family— and aim high to lead Sidmouth to victory!
