GERMAN TEACHER TO COVER A MATERNITY LEAVE

Full time maternity cover

Required for September 2023, a well-qualified and enthusiastic German Teacher to cover a maternity leave, at this successful 11-18 girls’ grammar school in Reading.  Graded ‘Outstanding’ in its recent OFSTED inspection in November 2022, Kendrick School is a centre of academic excellence with a track record of high performance and achievement.  Applicants should be able to teach German to A Level. The ability to teach French would also be an advantage.

German is a popular subject at Kendrick School and a number of students take the subject at A Level.

The recent Ofsted report, November 2022 stated: “Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary both in lessons and around the school. They respect and exemplify the values within the school pledge. Pupils love being here. Attendance is high, pupils are punctual, and lessons are free from any low-level disruption”

The position would suit a more experienced or a recently qualified teacher who is able to impart passion and enthusiasm for the subject to highly motivated, creative and engaging students. The thriving German department at Kendrick School follows the Extensive Processing Instruction (EPI) approach at KS 3 and KS 4 and seeks a candidate who embraces this teaching methodology.

COMPUTING AND MATHEMATICS TEACHER FOR SEPTEMBER 2023

Full time or could be considered as two part time roles for Computing 0.5FTE and Mathematics 0.5FTE

Required for September 2023, a well-qualified and enthusiastic Computing and Mathematics Teacher at this successful 11-18 girls’ grammar school in Reading.  Graded ‘Outstanding’ in its recent OFSTED inspection in November 2022, Kendrick School is a centre of academic excellence with a track record of high performance and achievement. 

Applicants need to be able to teach Mathematics and/ or Computing throughout the school. The majority of our students study Mathematics at A Level with many of them going on to study Mathematics and Computing related subjects at university.

This position would suit a recently qualified teacher who is able to impart passion and enthusiasm for the subject to highly motivated, creative and engaging students. Kendrick School has a very good track record of developing ECTs and the successful candidate would be joining a supportive and very experienced department. More experienced teachers are also welcome to apply. There would be opportunities for professional development and training within the department and the school as a whole.

Required for March or September 2023, a well-qualified and enthusiastic Music Teacher to cover a maternity leave, at this successful 11-18 girls’ grammar school in Reading. Applicants need to be able to teach Music to at least GSCE level, but preferably to A Level.

Music plays an important role in the life of Kendrick. Approximately 70% of students learn an instrument privately, at school, or with Berkshire Maestros. Central to the work of everyone in the Music Department is a desire to encourage students to give their very best at whatever level they can achieve.  The result is a large number of students involved in musical activities of one kind or another and of a very high quality, culminating in the almost professional standards of some of the most able students.

An opportunity is also available for a more experienced teacher ready to take on a key departmental leadership position within this role.
